New Ipswich, NH – At 7:54 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2026, NH Fish and Game Conservation Officers were notified of a group of five lost hikers off Boynton Hill Road. The hikers were identified as Collin Harrison, 21, of Fitchburg, MA, Emma Christie, 18, of Fitchburg, MA, Mason Gendron, 18, of Ashby, MA, Camdin Norton, 19, of Fitchburg, MA, and Jeremiah Soto, 20, of Fitchburg, MA. The group began at the Wapack trailhead. They needed to call for help after becoming lost. None of the hikers were injured.

Upon notification, Conservation Officers responded. When the hikers were located, they were approximately nine hundred feet from the nearest road. The group was collectively unprepared for a hike.

It is recommended that all hikers bring with them the ten essentials listed on the Hike Safe website. Outdoor enthusiasts are encouraged to purchase a Hike Safe card at wildnh.com/safe. The card helps support Fish and Game search and rescue activities.

NH Fish and Game’s response for this rescue was paid for with monies from the NH Hike Safe Card and the Search & Rescue Fund.
